Principal
An educator for more than 30 years, I graduated from Nixon High School and worked through college as a paraprofessional to obtain a B.S. in Elementary Education. Received the Master of Science Degree in Education from Texas A&I University in Laredo and certification in Bilingual Education, Special Education, supervision, counseling and mid-management.
I have been principal of Alma A. Pierce Elementary School since 1989, overseeing the instructional program for more than 980 students and 120 staff members.
I was also an instructional supervisor for LISD from 1987 to 1989. Prior to this I was a teacher at United Middle School from 1972 to 1973 and LISD at Buenos Aires Elementary School from 1973 to 1987. I taught 1st, 2nd, 5th and special education.
My professional activities include the Laredo Administrator's and Supervisor's Organization from 1987 to the present. I am also a member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators.
